Welcome to My Pacts ("Platform", "Service", "we", "us", or "our"). This Platform is operated by My Pacts. By using our Platform, you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you don't agree with these Terms, please don't use the Platform.
These Terms apply to all users of the Platform, including those who create pacts, join pacts, log activities, make deposits, pay creator fees, or otherwise interact with the Service.
We own the platform. Everything used to build and run the Platform, including our software, systems, and designs, belongs to My Pacts. You retain ownership of your personal data and any content you create, such as pact names and activity logs.
You agree not to use the Platform for anything illegal, abusive, or disruptive. Specifically:
If you violate these rules, we may remove content, suspend, or terminate your account as needed. We reserve the right to take appropriate action to protect the Platform and its users.
For safety and community standards, see our Child Safety Policy.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Platform. To participate in any pact that involves a deposit or creator fee, you must be at least 18 years old. By joining a deposit pact or paying a creator fee, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
If you create an account, you're responsible for:
You can delete your account at any time through your Profile page. When you delete your account, your personal information (email and phone) will be removed, but your activity history may remain in anonymized form. Financial records may be retained as required by law or for accounting purposes.
The Platform allows you to create and join pacts (accountability groups) and log activities. When you create a pact:
When you join a pact, you agree to participate in good faith and log your activities accurately. You are responsible for the accuracy of the activity data you log.
Certain pacts allow members to make a deposit as a commitment device. Deposits are optional unless required by the pact creator.
How deposits work:
Minimum check-in requirement: The minimum number of check-in days required to qualify for a deposit refund is determined at the time the deposit is paid. It is calculated as 80% of the number of calendar days remaining in the pact (inclusive of the join date and the pact end date), rounded down to the nearest whole number. This value is fixed at the time of joining and is not affected by any subsequent changes to the pact's duration. A member qualifies for a refund once they have checked in on at least that many distinct calendar days.
For members who join on the first day of the pact, the required check-in days for standard pact durations are as follows:
Members who join after a pact has started will have a proportionally lower required check-in count, calculated from the number of days remaining at the time they join.
What counts as a check-in day: A check-in counts toward the required minimum when a member logs an activity on a distinct calendar day. For pacts that track a quantitative measure (such as a number of repetitions or minutes), the logged value must be greater than zero to count as a completed check-in day.
Forfeit distribution:
Platform data is final: Check-in records as logged through the Platform are the sole basis for determining completion. My Pacts does not accept disputes, overrides, or manual adjustments to check-in data. By participating in a deposit pact, you accept that the Platform's recorded data is final and binding.
No guarantee of outcome: My Pacts is not responsible for your ability to complete a pact. Deposits may be forfeited for any reason, including illness, injury, travel, or circumstances outside your control.
Pact creators may charge a non-refundable creator fee to members who join their pact. Creator fees are separate from deposits and are charged at the time of joining.
Creators who earn revenue through deposits or creator fees are paid out through the Platform's payment infrastructure.
Pact creators are expected to participate in good faith in any pact they create, particularly where members have made deposits or paid a creator fee in reliance on the creator's participation.
Reporting: If a pact creator abandons a pact, ceases participating, or otherwise fails to fulfill their role, members may report this through the Platform. Where the greater of 3 members or 25% of all active pact members independently report a creator as non-participating or absent, My Pacts may, at its sole discretion, investigate and take action.
Platform intervention: My Pacts reserves the right, but is not obligated, to cancel a pact and issue full refunds of deposits and creator fees to all members if we determine, in our sole judgment, that a creator has materially abandoned the pact. Creator earnings withheld as a result of Platform-initiated cancellation will not be distributed.
My Pacts is not liable for any harm, loss, or dissatisfaction arising from creator conduct or from our decision to intervene or not intervene in any particular pact.
Deposits, creator fees, and payouts are processed through Stripe, a third-party payment service provider. By making or receiving payments through the Platform, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. My Pacts is not responsible for errors, delays, or failures caused by Stripe or any other payment processor.
All financial transactions are conducted in USD unless otherwise stated. My Pacts does not operate as a bank, financial institution, or money services business. Deposits are held operationally pending pact outcome and are not insured by any government deposit protection program.

We send notifications to help you stay on track with your goals, but you can opt out at any time through your notification preferences or your device settings.
We may modify, update, or discontinue features of the Platform at any time. We also reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for users who violate these Terms or misuse the Service.
While we strive to keep the Platform available and functioning properly, we are not liable for any losses, damages, or downtime. Use of the Platform is at your own risk. This includes any loss of access to deposit funds or payout delays caused by Platform outages or technical failures.
The Platform may use third-party services for hosting, email delivery, SMS delivery, payment processing, and other functions. By using the Platform, you agree that we may share necessary data with these services to provide functionality.
These third-party services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party services.
You can request a copy of your data or delete your account at any time through your Profile page. When you delete your account, your personal information (email and phone) will be removed from our systems.
Some data may be retained as required by law or for security and accounting purposes, but it will be anonymized and cannot be used to identify you. Financial transaction records may be retained for a minimum of 7 years in accordance with applicable Canadian tax and accounting laws.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Alberta.
Payment disputes: All deposit and creator fee outcomes are determined by Platform-recorded data and are final. My Pacts does not adjudicate disputes over check-in accuracy, pact completion status, or payout amounts except in cases of Platform error. If you believe a payment error has occurred, contact us at [email protected] within 30 days of the relevant pact's end date.
We may update these Terms occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or for legal or regulatory reasons. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email or through a notice on the Platform.
Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
